She's 4.

Olive was able to spend the night the night before her birthday so that I could take her and her little brother Xander to have an early breakfast and take in an early showing of Ice Age. We went to IHOP where she ordered for herself and drew pictures of herself with her little brother. I was surprised by her massive appetite. The little girl that never eats meat (or very much for that matter) ate 2 slices of bacon some egg and 2 pancakes and then asked if we could deliver the rest of her breakfast to her step-dad at work.

I can't believe how much her hair has grown. I was beginning to think it would stay short forever. While I'd like to take her to get it styled before school starts- I think I'm loving ther natural look. She looks so cute and hip with her messy bangs.

Her birthday party is this weekend and I feel very blessed to have her with me the full weekend. I'll be picking her up tonite for our thursday visit and then friday evening for the whole weekend. Everything for the party kinda came about at the last minute. I don't know if anyone else had had issues finding My Little Pony decorations, but its been a nightmare. I was lucky enough to find a very cute design at H.E.B of all places. Im really loving their bakery lately. Designs are becoming so much more modern and they always have several ready made kid cakes that blow your mind.

I've been suffering from a bit of anxiety lately. A lot of things have been going on apart from planning a party! I recently had a job interview- who knows how that went. its a little soon to hear back it was only 2 days ago....I have my fingers crossed

We have also decided to move. More info on that later!

July 4th came and went....

So yesterday was the 4th of July....it came and went and i had no idea it was a holiday. I'm a mess. I spent the afternoon at my parents crafting for Barb's wedding and had a bbq dinner. Rick worked. Olive was at her Dad's.

Xander spent the day being passed around the room. And he loved every moment of it.

I picked up Olive this morning and watched her till about 6. She wolfed down her kid's meal. Spent about an hour in her own tub. Squeezed her baby brother. Played with her own toys. Rolled around in her own bed.

We lay there for a while in her room and she described wishing her dad had a room for her too. She appreciates everything. I love her.

She'll be back tomorrow to stay for the whole weekend. I'm excited. Me and my babies. I wanna do everything....i just cant think of what to do....lol

Back to cooking....my Rick is out late today. Making some pork chops and baked potatoes. Maybe some cornbread....yum.

We miss you, Beefy.

Lonely

The apartment is quiet. No quiet foot steps. No bed headed Olive rubbing the sleep from her eyes hovering at the edge of the couch.

No "goomorninmomma".

July 2012

This month is the month Olive turns 4. It is also the month Olive will spend an entire month with her Dad. Although I was worried at first, I know she's in good hands with her Dad and Grandma Janie.

Her dad and I have had a rocky relationship for years, but I know that even when things are tough between us we always think about each other first. We have set up this month so that I will see just as much of Olive as I need. I'll be getting her every other weekend, thursday afternoons and whenever her Dad has to work. I'm really glad for that.

The kids said their goodbyes on friday....

Xander missing his sister already....

Saturday, we took Olive to the Vans Hello Kitty Event in Brownsville, TX. We had never been to that mall as a family. We took a pic with Kitty, rode the carousel and saw Brave (which was awesome by the way) while we waited for the rain to stop.

Xander and I before picking up Olive to go to Brownsville

The line to see Kitty

Our pic with Hello Kitty and some extra goodies

Olive on the carousel. We sat in a giant shell hehe.

Xander exhausted after a long day hehe..

Its been raining for days now. On and off.  Its been so bad that I walked into the office today and noticed that it was raining in there too :_:

Now its hot again. geez. Even Xander knocked out...

So here we are, spending a day with Olive, while her daddy works. She's asking for burgers, that I know she won't eat. I think she just likes the idea of someone cooking for her. Olive could live on veggies alone :)

Need to take a lesson or two from her!

Off to wash!

2012

So its been a while. hehe.

Not long after Olive turned 2, we moved into our first apartment. We struggled in the beginning, but now we are in a good place. Money is tight, but we are comfortable.

....lets see....

I met a wonderful guy who has become like a father to Olive, his name is Rick. We met at work and have been together 2 years. A little over 6 months ago on November 25, 2011, we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy whom we named Quinton Alexander- Xander for short.

Everything went rather fast, but I feel as if I've know Rick all my life. We are very happy.

Olive is so very in love with her baby brother....

When we aren't working we spend all our time together as a family.

My darling beefy is about to be 4 next month and is begging for a My Little Pony birthday party. She's grown into a beautiful little girl happy and well adjusted. In the fall she'll be starting school. Something she's not very excited about, but I know once she starts she'll love it.

Birthday planning updates to come! We have a little over a month to go!
