Back to the Creek

Watching Dawson's Creek season 4. It is considerably one of my favorite. I love the Joey and Pacey story.

Olive is still sick. Strep, but now its strep, and a rash, and a bug bite.

She's handling it all rather well. She's a strong girl.

Sicky

Went to the doctor again. Olive had a runny nose on Monday, so I gave her some meds I had from her previous cold. By Tuesday she had a cough so I continued giving her the cold meds, but by 2 am she had coughed so hard that she threw up. Today I took her to the doctor and found out she has strep throat :(

Its scary because I have no idea where she could have gotten it. Nobody is sick at home. I don't wanna say she got it at her dad's, but I can't think of anywhere else. Maybe from her last visit to the doctor? No se. I'm just so sad for her.

I hope she feels better soon.

Catching up.

Its been a tiring couple of days. I think it was the weekend that killed me. On friday, I took Olive for her 1 year physical. It was a total nightmare.
First off, I find it really hard managing Olive on my own at the dr's office, specifically when they want you signing in, pulling out insurance info, vac card...ect, ect- all while carrying about 15 pounds of the things I need (my wallet, bottles, formula, juice, snacks, stuffed giraffe, diapers, wipes, extra clothes, ect, ect, ect ;_; ) .....and juggling a 20 pound baby all at the same time! Nobody would go with me! I was so angry.

The weather has been horrible as well....like in the 100s. OMG.

Anyway, they tell me Olive is gonna need all these shots because she's now 1 (I kinda assumed and gave her a little tylenol before we left). They tried to check her for lead poisoning, apparently its standard now. It took 3 nurses and myself (I was trying to keep myself from sobbing!), to hold her and this stupid woman could not get any blood out! Then she tried to do it again....I'm sorry, but I refused to let her try again. That would have made it a total of 7 shots, and I wasn't about to put Olive through that again. She said I could wait for the 15 month visit...pfft. I tried calling her dad to get him to come help me hold her for the last 5 shots, but by the time he got there....it was done.

Lucky him.

I know that its important for babies to get all their shots, but you would think that they'd come up with any easier, painless way to protect them.

*sigh*

I've been trying to re-arrange Olive's play room....I think its pretty comfortable now. Unfortunately, I had to take out the tv. That tv is really for me so that I can watch while she naps/plays. She had no interest in the tv other than wanting to tip it over. So it had to go....
Back to our bedroom.
I don't think she likes it in here.

I haven't upgraded my flickr so I haven't been able to upload any of the party pics because I'm at my limit.

We ended up moving Olive's party to Sunday due to some family issues

Sad ones.
The funeral kind.

We had already set up the party room on friday, so that was already out of the way, all that was left was the food! Saturday night ended up being our crunch day. We had so much to do and we ended up starting super late because there was tons of family around and my mother was with her sister (my aunt's husband died). I think we did pretty well considering everything.
The party was a great hit!
Everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Good Nite, Sweet Livejournal.....

Today was a big day for me....

I've tried for years to kill off my livejournal, but today I finally did it. I keep fighting the need to check it. My journal held a lot of negativity. Negativity that I hope will all wash away now that I'm free.

Today I am a new person.

I also killed my myspace page....which is wow. I'm moving on. Growing up. I don't need that crutch anymore.


I noticed....that I was more motivated to move...now that thats all done...Olive's birthday is on saturday....we'll see how that goes...

Getting Started.

I haven't had a chance to get this started, but I'd like to.

Olive will be turning a year old next Saturday. I'm really excited. I have been planning it for months. The theme is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Its taken me a few weeks to get the decorations made. I had to do them by hand because there aren't really an decorations out there that don't cost an arm and a leg to be shipped.
I owe it all to Mod Podge.

anyway...I'm a bit rushed today. I have to clean. I'll try again soon.
