Christmas Wreath
More from the Hello, Cupcake! Book
Items Used (I edited the instructions/ingredients to my liking, but they are pretty much the same!):
-Cherry Chip Cake Mix
-White Frosting
-White Decorating Sugar
-Snowflake Sprinkles
-White Chocolate
-Mint Leaves
-Red Sour Balls
Without a bow....

With a bow!

Bake, frost and sprinkle the night before.

I covered one side of the mint leaves with white chocolate and then when they dried, I peeled off the leaf, if you are careful you can re-use the leaves a few times.

Put leaves in fridge over night. I did this because I started the 23rd and our party was Christmas Eve night and I didn't want to leave it to wilt overnight (surprisingly, it was rather sturdy!)

The day of the party arrange, and garnish with red sour balls!
:)

Another week at a glance (and then some)
Olive writing me a story....

Playing in her room...

My uncle's birthday was on monday, so I made him some cupcakes I found in a book I just ordered off Amazon called, Hello, Cupcake!

This is a TV Dinner. Its 3 drumsticks, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, and a cupcake dessert....it was supposed to be a brownie, but I forgot to get chocolate frosting!
I did make a few other changes because I didn't have some (a lot) of the things it required....
*I subbed the cornflakes for crushed graham crackers (this mostly because, the thought of cornflakes on frosting made me a little queasy...hehe)
* the cupcakes were butter pecan with cream cheese frosting
* instead of using a mini cupcake toped with a doughnut-hole to lengthen the drumstick from its cupcake shortness, I just used the doughnut-hole on a pretzel and popped it on the top....this because I didn't know about the mini cupcake *kicks self* Looking at pictures is not reading, Loryna! Still it worked out rather well.
*I also didn't have white chocolate to make the bone so I just used a marshmallow on a pretzel and poked that through the top of the doughnut.

Meanwhile....at dinner....
Olive studying everyone at my uncle's birthday dinner at Casa de Marisco.

Bored with the mariachi band (man, they played really bad...)

These are the cupcakes I worked on last night. I got the idea from Hello, Cupcake! they're ornament cupcakes!

I tweaked the idea a little because I couldn't find a lot of the candy items it required....these were also butter pecan/cream cheese.

I couldn't find the finer colored sugar, black licorice, or gum drops....so I made do with colored twizzlers and "coarse" colored sugar.....

Christmas is just around the corner....I can't wait to try out new cupcake stuffs!
